Board-approved Part 2 Skills Training Workshop for Supervisors

Why become a Board-approved supervisor?
Psychologists must have Board-approved Supervisor status to supervise clinicians undertaking certain pathways to registration and other programs. These include but aren’t limited to:

  • the 5+1 internship program
  • placements during an accredited higher degree program
  • the registrar program for area of practice endorsement
  • and the transitional program for overseas-qualified applicants

The training process

To become a Board-approved supervisor, the psychologist must have:

1) held general registration as a psychologist for at least three years, and

2) successfully completed full training with a Board-approved provider.

This training involves three sequential components:

  • Part 1: self-directed online course
  • Part 2: two-day skills training workshop
  • Part 3: competency-based assessment.

C-Best is pleased to offer Part 2 (skills training workshop) and Part 3 (competency-based assessment).

To enrol in the skills training workshop, psychologists must have completed Part 1 (self-directed online course) through another institution (e.g., the APS)

and will be asked to provide C-Best with their certificate of completion for Part 1 prior to the Part 2 workshop.

Upon successful completion of Part 2 with C-Best, participants will then be invited to enrol in Part 3.
